Behaviour Advice by Jacquie Hall

As dogs become more and more accepted as ‘one of the family' over the last few decades, problem behaviour has drastically increased.

Whilst almost all canine behaviour which we find unacceptable is perfectly normal for a dog, we must find solutions to enable dog and human to co-exist happily together.

Jacquie Hall has studied dog behaviour for over 15 years and has dealt with over 3,000 dogs and handlers with problems ranging from basic training problems, toilet training, chewing, and barking or separation problems.

The most common referral, which is perhaps the most worrying, is aggression. Most commonly caused by fear, we aim to prevent aggression problems happening through better education of owners, full socialisation of puppies and monitoring of temperament. However, for problems which have been allowed to develop, we have a range of successful, non-confrontational techniques to teach aggressive dogs how to alter their own behaviour. Our reputation in dealing with aggressive dogs is second to none.

Jacquie runs one-to-one sessions at the Canine Centre.
